Can I see an online doctor in Florida?
Yes, you can see an online doctor in Florida as long as they are fully licensed. However, not every primary care physician (PCP) or speciality doctor offers online visits. If you need medical care, K Health offers 24/7 online urgent care, primary care, and mental health treatment with board-certified doctors in Florida.
Can I get a prescription online in Florida?
Prescripts can only be provided by a licensed physician, but you can see an online doctor to receive a prescription. Once you have the prescription, some health care providers allow online prescription refills through their website or app. With K Health, you can schedule an online doctor visit in Florida, receive a prescription, or refill a prescription from your phone.
What conditions can online doctors treat in Florida?
There are no legal restrictions on what an online doctor can treat in Florida—you can be treated for many conditions, including minor illnesses, skin conditions, pain management, and mental health conditions. Some urgent care facilities even offer online visits. However, not every condition can be treated effectively with an online visit, and your doctor may recommend an in-person visit to properly diagnose or treat your condition or to perform certain tests.

Like any medication, you need a prescription from a licensed doctor to get antibiotics. But you can receive a prescription from an online doctor for antibiotics. Depending on your insurance company or health care provider, you may also be able to order refills online through their website or app.

How much does Primary Care cost?
Primary Care is included as part of your K Health membership, which costs $49 for the first month, and is then billed in advance 3 months at a time. You can cancel your membership anytime until 1 day before your renewal date, at which point you’ll be place on a quarterly membership and your subscription will be automatically renewed. The cancelation will go into effect at the end of the billing cycle.

Can I use my insurance to pay for K Health?
With the exception of certain Surest and Elevance Health plans, we don’t accept insurance to pay for K Health memberships, one-time Urgent Care virtual visits, or mail-order medication, but we keep our prices low to keep medical care accessible to everyone. In many cases, our prices are lower than your insurance copay would have been!
If your medical provider prescribes you medication to pick up at your local pharmacy or orders bloodwork to a lab of your choice, you can use your insurance at those locations.
What does Primary Care treat?
The K Health Primary Care program is part of the K Health membership, which offers chronic condition management and prevention, 24/7 Urgent Care*, prescription renewals, treatment for anxiety and depression, and more.
Medical providers practicing on the K Health platform help you manage and treat common chronic conditions like high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes, and also create personalized care plans to help prevent future conditions, like heart attack and stroke. Your medical team can remotely prescribe medication, order lab tests and health screenings, and more.

Are there any conditions that K Health doesn’t treat?
K Health-affiliated medical providers can diagnose and treat most things you might see an in-person primary care doctor for. However, there are sometimes instances when we recommend you see a doctor in person.
For example, ear infections and strep throat are two common conditions that require an in-person consultation for diagnosis. However, K Health-affiliated providers can help assess severity and provide guidance on what to do next.
We also don’t treat anyone who:
- is under 18 years old
- lives in Hawaii or Alaska
- has a medical condition that requires a specialist (on a case by case basis)
- is currently pregnant
- is currently being treated for cancer with chemotherapy or radiotherapy
- has an autoimmune disease
- is currently on immunosuppressants
- is diagnosed with AIDS
- is currently in hospice care
- has a history of organ transplant
- is dependent on oxygen
- has significant liver, kidney, or other organ failure
- is seeking medical management related to worker’s comp or injury litigation

What happens if the clinician recommends that I see someone in person?
While excellent medical care can be administered remotely, depending on your symptoms, your medical team may recommend that you seek in-person care.
For example, we can’t treat orthopedic conditions remotely, and occasionally conditions like strep throat require an in-person lab test. We’ll always work with you to try and find the right doctor in your area to make things as easy as possible.
