Melissa M. George, DNP, FNP-BC, MSN, CDCES, a doctorate prepared, board-certified family nurse practitioner and diabetes care and education specialist. She has over 15 years of healthcare experience which include wellness and diabetes management, and caring for patients 18 months and older with acute and chronic conditions. She’s known among her colleagues as “Magic Melissa,” as she’s able to coach and empower others to get the results they desire. She began her professional career as a computer programmer. Feeling a strong need to follow her gifts to serve in more meaningful ways, she transitioned into healthcare in 2005. She’s originally from the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago, a place she says, “of lighthearted people of varied ethnicities sharing culture, music, art, food, and fun!” People and wellness are her passions.
